Description of Metsulfuron-methyl 20%WP:
Metsulfuron-methyl 20%WP
Pure Metsulfuron-methyl is white crystal and its original medicine is white to sallow solid powder. Its main technical parameters are as follows:
1. Melting point: 163-166℃
2. Solubility in the water increases with the increasing of pH value:
-- pH=4.59, it is 270mg/L;
-- pH=5.42, it is 1750mg/L;
-- pH=11, it is 9500mg/L.
3. Toxicity:
-- Low toxicity to fish;
-- Slightly stimulus to the skin of guinea pigs
-- The acute oral toxicity of rat is LD50>5000mg/kg,
--The acute percutaneous toxicity of rabbit is LD50>2000mg/kg
4. As for its pharmaceutical preparation, there are two types: 20％WP及5％WDG.
Feature of Metsulfuron-methyl 20%WP
Metsulfuron-methyl is a residual sulfonylurea herbicide that kills broadleaf weeds and some annual grasses. The main features are as follows:
1. A kind of broad-spectrum, selective wheat field herbicide with conduction and inner absorption function;
2. It is a systemic compound with foliar and soil activity, which inhibits cell division in shoots and roots.
3. When it is absorbed into the wheat, it can be transformed by the enzymes and then rapid degradation, so wheat has a greater tolerance to this product.
4. Its dosage is small, but it has a large solubility in water;
5. It can also be adsorbed in soil, and its degradation in the soil is very slow, especially in alkaline soil degradation is more slowly.
Application of Metsulfuron-methyl 20%WP
This herbicide is effective in prevention and elimination of these weeds, like shortrawn foxtail, Veronica, chickweed, vetch, shepherd's purse, Descurainia sophia, Chenopodium, Polygonum, molded rice grass and water peanut.
